From the result of the research, it is found fourty four illocutionary acts of the main character’s illocutionary acts occurred in the movie. Based on the findings, the writer concluded that illocutionary acts in the movie midnight in paris can be seen by five types of illocutionary acts according to Searle theory, the are assertive, directive, commissive, declarative and expressive where assering is mostly used by the main character. Then, it also found perlocutionary acts by other character, they are utterance and action.
