In this thesis, the writer found the students ability in distinguishing between written British and American English were average which the mean score is 52,43 and the most difficult aspect that the students get in distinguishing of both was vocabulary aspect. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that the students did not have much understanding about the distinction on variety of English especially written British and American English.
